Tiger Scouts

Tiger Scout Troop 733 of New Wilmington visited The Globe Leader offices June 12 to learn all about how the newspaper is put together.

Scouts (L-R) Kyle Erson, Erik Richarson, Andrew Welsh,  and Alex Ramirez hold up their copies of The Globe.  The boys are going to send in photos of their pets for the Pizza Joe's Pet Corner.

Youth Choir Stays Busy

The Neshannock Presbyterian Church Youth Choir has had a busy year. 
The choir sang during the morning worship service several times throughout the year.  On Mother’s Day, the youth choir featured 123, Jesus Loves Me and on May 18, they performed Daddy Sang Bass, and When the Saints Go Marching In, featuring Hanna Bowersox on trumpet and Angie Sipe on saxophone. 

Recently, this ensemble has been developing their skills on the melody bells and played a scale and Jesus Loves Me.
The youth choir consists of Hannah Bowersox, Maddie and Emma Hill, Jenna Horchler, Marissa, Jack, and Bryce Litzenberg, David Roberts, Abigail Seltzer and Angie Sipe.
Assistants to the choir include Amanda Hallowich, Annie Laurie Holfelder, Danielle Roberts and Chris Stone.

The children like to “make a joyful noise to the Lord!”  Cynthia Magyary is the director of the choir and Rev. Bill Stone is the pastor.

Nieto Honored By U.S. Achievement Academy
 
Andrew NietoAndrew Nieto, a Wilmington Area Middle School 7th grader, has been recognized by the United States Achievement Academy as a student of excellence in band.  He will appear in the Academy's official yearbook that is published nationally.

Band Director Gary Taylor nominated Andrew for the honor.

Andrew is the son of Richard and Geni Nieto of Pulaski.  Grandparents are John and Barbara Nieto of Aurora, Colorado, and Jack and Marlene Flaisman of Euclid, Ohio.

Celebrate the Art
WAMS Art Club hold showing at Blue Heron Gallery

WAMS gallery exhibit

The Wilmington Area Middle School 5th and 6th grade Art Club recently held a showing of their work at the Blue Heron Art Gallery in Volant.  The turn-out was so successful that the exhibit has been extended through Saturday, May 24.  You can visit the gallery and view some wonderful works of art by a talented group of students.  Shown above is Don Gold snapping a picture of a happy artist.
